RUF Briquetting Systems is the global market leader in hydraulic briquetting presses, engineered in Zaisertshofen, Bavaria, Germany since 1987. A wide range of materials — metal, aluminium, grinding sludge, wood waste, biomass, and agro-residue, can be pressed into high-quality, high-density briquettes that save space, reduce disposal cost, recover coolants, and command premium resale value. Every system we supply is customised to the specific material, required throughput, and production conditions of your plant.

OUR STORY
From HTMA to ecoSilun Solutions
The Makhijani family’s partnership with RUF Briquetting Systems began at the Aluminium Trade Fair in Essen, Germany, in September 2004.
The family’s company, then operating as HTMA, was officially appointed as RUF’s representative for India in January 2005.
The journey began with the sale of a RUF 1000 for bagasse processing. Today, RUF systems serve customers across India's expanding industrial base and a wide range of sectors.
Following the passing of founder Hiroo T. Makhijani (2023) and Sunil Makhijani (2024), Mallika Makhijani assumed leadership for the next phase of business growth.

Mallika’s connection to the briquetting industry began in 2012 with an internship at RUF’s headquarters in Zaisertshofen, Germany where she gained firsthand experience of its technology, engineering excellence, and values. This was followed by commercial training in Germany and experience in sales and business development in Canada. On returning to India in 2024, she repositioned the company under the ecoSilun Solutions name with a clear strategic agenda: to leverage RUF briquetting technology to help India become self-sufficient in recycled metal and biofuel production, advancing a circular economy and strengthening the nation’s manufacturing capabilities.
She is committed to establishing RUF as India’s benchmark for briquetting solutions while supporting the Make in India initiative through innovation, resource efficiency, and responsible manufacturing. Her leadership is driven by market education, long-term partnerships, and a commitment to delivering sustainable solutions that create lasting value for both industry and the environment.
